| As one of the original Audubon Societies in the country, Connecticut Audubon Society (CAS) has held a 110 year responsibility to educate people about sound conservation practices. Today we have six teaching facilities, a legislative office, numerous sanctuaries and preserves, and an office devoted to EcoTravel. We are excited about continuing this growth and helping others to learn about the natural world around them. CAS has long been at the forefront of developing environmental and natural history education programs in Connecticut, and now does so on a national level through its EcoTravel program. CAS is a non-profit organization founded in 1898 and has 501(c)(3) status. | |

If this was a perfect world, everyone working in tourism or living in a touristic area would be benefiting from tourism. Unfortunately the world is far from perfect, and many people, particularly in poor countries who are involved in tourism are abused by employers and in some cases by tourists. We cannot claim 100% perfection on all of our tours, but with your help we will improve and maybe other western tour operators and local employers will take notice and become more responsible. To be sustainable tourism must benefit all who are involved or affected and respect natures order.
